Bhastrika

Also known as the ‘bellows breath’ where both the inhale and exhale are forceful using the diaphragm to push air in and out, giving the breathing muscle a workout.

Begin in a comfortable seated position. Take a deep breath in and breathe out forcefully. Immediately, breathe in with the same force. Inhale and exhale repeatedly, using the diaphragmatic muscles.

Work up to 10 cycles of breath to complete one round. Do one round to start, then work up to 3 rounds, pausing in between rounds or stopping if you feel lightheaded or more fatigued.
